Our team of caregivers is each highly qualified, but we understand trusting someone in your home to care for a loved one can create some concern. That’s why we have a lengthy selection and screening process that involves four steps before we welcome them to our team.
1. Phone Screening
After we review applications, we conduct a phone screening of applicants we feel may have the qualifications needed to join our team of caregivers. We ask them questions related to their background, skills and abilities to determine if they are a good fit and have the heart of compassionate care we provide at CareGivers of America.
2. In-Person Interview
After the initial screening, successful applicants move on to an in-person interview. This gives us a better feel for an individual, as we can judge their demeanor and attitude. We have a list of questions we address toward applicants to help us get a better idea about their experience level. Meeting them in-person also allows us to sense if they have the characteristics we look for in our caregivers.
3. Federal Level 2 Background Check
To ensure the safety of our clients, we conduct a Federal Level 2 Background Check on anyone we are interested in as a potential caregiver. This is a Florida state and national fingerprint-based check that allows us to learn if they have committed any offenses that would disqualify them from employment.
4. Reference Checks
In addition to screening, interviews and the background check, we ensure all the references that applicants have included with their application check out. This includes past employers and others who can give an account of their work ethic and character.
